Unconventional beauty practices.
The project consists of 5 diptych photos. They are the result of my research on the instruments to augment the dimension of beauty practices.
The beauty requires sacrifice – used to repeat my female relatives while torturing me with combs and uncomfortable clothing for making me look good when I was a child. Now I’m an adult, but work with the enhancement of appearance is still painful. Moreover, I still don’t understand why most of these practices are regarded as something that improves the way we look. On the other hand, I want to try at least some of them but without any uncomfortable consequences. So I tried to have the fun of it and being beautiful simultaneously. I picked the traits which are considered to be female/male and beautiful/ugly, and I combine them within my body.
